Reminder: COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Includes Fully-approved Pfizer 8/26

With Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine now fully approved by the FDA, a reminder that UMass Lowell will host a mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic for students and employees in the Salem Street Lot next to University Crossing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26. An additional clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29 in the same location.

 Employees and students who have yet to be vaccinated are encouraged to take advantage of the clinic where free COVID-19 vaccinations will be provided to any UMass Lowell community member. This is a great opportunity for international students who were unable to receive an FDA or WHO approved vaccine in their home country to get vaccinated. UML IDs (UCards) are required to verify you are a member of the UML community. You do not need to bring an insurance card with you.

Run in conjunction with City of Lowell Board of Health and with language capacity in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, the clinic will offer the two-dose series Pfizer and Moderna vaccines as well as the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

A follow-up mobile clinic will be held in the same location from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23 to provide second doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines from both the Aug. 26 and Aug. 29 clinics. For those that may have missed the August clinic, the single dose of Johnson & Johnson will be available on Sept. 23. Anyone coming for a second dose of Pfizer and Moderna should bring their white vaccine card to the clinic for updating.

To be considered compliant with the COVID-19 requirement, students must upload their vaccination card and associated information to the Student Health Services Patient Portal after receiving their first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or their single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Students will need to upload their updated vaccine card after receiving their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna to the portal to be considered fully compliant with the vaccine requirement.

All supervisors are asked to be flexible with employees who wish to visit the clinic during their shifts and employees should check with their supervisors before visiting the clinic. Both clinics will be moved into University Crossing in the event of inclement weather.
