Biosketch
Yi Shen is an Assistant Professor of Finance specializing in empirical corporate finance topics, including bank loan pricing, unemployment risk, corporate innovation, and product market competition. Her research paper “Local product market competition and bank loans” has been accepted for publication at the Journal of Corporate Finance. Her research "Labor Unemployment Insurance and R&D Productivity" was a semi-finalist for Best Paper Award in 2019 Financial Management Association (FMA) Annual Meeting. Prior to earning her Ph.D. from University of Massachusetts Lowell, Shirley was a derivatives analyst at Morgan Stanley Baltimore office. She received her bachelor's degree from Case Western Reserve University with magna cum laude in 2013 and master's degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2014.
