Biosketch

Holly Lalos is the former Director, Rist DifferenceMakerTM Institute, University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Prior to becoming Director of the Rist DifferenceMaker Institute, Holly Lalos worked as project manager in New Venture Development and as a business analyst for the Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center, as well as several medical device startup companies. During her master degree studies in innovation and technological entrepreneurship, she earned a research assistant position. In pursuit of that degree, she became a multiple recipient of the Massachusetts Life Science Internship Award.

In 2012, she helped launch, grow, and sustain the DifferenceMaker program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Over the years, she has presented DifferenceMaker, earned grants, and received awards at the Deshpande Symposium on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Higher Education, the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers, the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and the VentureWell Open Conference. She recently travelled to Hubli, India as part of the UMass Lowell Global Entrepreneurship Exchange program to introduce faculty to DifferenceMaker concepts and experiential learning techniques. In addition to directing DifferenceMaker, Holly teaches as an adjunct in the Manning School of Business.
