Biosketch

Nichalin Summerfield is an Assistant Professor of Operations & Information Systems Department at UMass Lowell. She received her Ph.D. in Management with a concentration in Operations Management and a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. Her research interests are in the areas of applied game theoretical analysis and business data analytics in operations and supply chain management. Her published articles have appeared in European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of the Spanish Society of Statistics and Operations Research, and Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology. Prior to joining UMass Lowell, she taught statistics, quantitative business analysis, and logistics at UMass Dartmouth.

Before pursuing her Ph.D., she worked at Accenture (Thailand) where she was involved in various IT process re-design and system integration projects. She had also developed the image compression software used on the Phoenix Mars Lander while working as a part-time software engineer at the University of Arizona.
