Biosketch
John McAvoy is an adjunct professor in the Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts Lowell. He teaches MBA courses on marketing, professional communications, and strategic management – imparting career knowledge and inspiring the next generation of business leaders. John is the Recipient of 2024 Haskell Memorial Award for Distinguished Teaching.
Prior to teaching at UMass Lowell, John held senior executive positions at public and private companies in the high-tech industry, where he built strategies; led company, product, and brand launches; developed messaging; promoted visibility; and achieved revenue goals through innovative initiatives.
John earned his MS in Marketing Management from Lesley University and has a BA in Economics from Merrimack College. He resides in homes in New Hampshire and Florida.
