Biosketch
David A. Lewis, Ph.D., is an adjunct professor in the Management Department and Operations and Information Systems (OIS) Department. Prior to joining UMass Lowell, Lewis taught at the University of Puerto Rico, University of Massachusetts Amherst and was a Senior Industrial Engineer with the U.S. Department of Commerce. He speaks Spanish and traveled extensively throughout Europe and the developing world on research and business. He has recently been named to the Editorial Board of Quality Progress, and continues his consulting service to the manufacturing and health care industries in facility design and quality control.
Professor Lewis has published over thirty refereed articles, with his most recent works appearing in Production and Inventory Management, Operations management Review, and the International Journal of Management. He has made over fifty presentations at regional and national meetings, including the Decision Science Institute, American Society of Quality Control, and Operations Management Society, as well as international conferences in Canada, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, and Singapore.
