ISSO π₯ππ€π¨ππ₯ππ¦ that students on OPT use the OPT reporting e-formΒ to report all OPT changes and updates. The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) has launched an SEVP Portal to assist students in reporting U.S. address, phone number and OPT employer. Use of the SEVP Portal is optional and does not include all fields required for reporting. If you choose to set up an account in the SEVP Portal, you must also update your address and OPT employer information in the OPT reporting e-form.
You are required to report the following information within a 10-day period while on post-OPT. Failure to report employment is a violation of the F-1 status. SEVP has the right to terminate any student, on an approved OPT authorization, that has accrued more than 90 days of unemployment. To ensure that your unemployment time stops accruing, you must report employment prior to the expiry of your available unemployment time.
The following must be reported within 10 days:
- New Employment
- Loss of Employment
- Interruption of Employment
- Concurrent Employment
- Unpaid Internship/Volunteer Work
- Change in Employer Name
- Change in Employer Address
- Change of Name
- Change of Address (U.S. or Home Country)
- Change in Citizenship
- Change in Non-Immigrant Visa Status
