Megan B. McCullough, Ph.D. is research faculty in the Department of Public Health. She is a medical anthropologist and health services researcher with expertise in qualitative research design and methods and implementation science with a special interest in multi-level complex interventions. Her content area of expertise, in health services research, focuses on clinical pharmacy practice, medication variation studies (medication misuse, overuse, inappropriate use), translation of evidence into practice, program evaluation and de-implementation of low value care. As an anthropologist, qualitative methods expert, and implementation scientist, she is deeply motivated by questions that explore how contextual and cultural factors in healthcare settings interact with each other in ways that enhance or impede implementation of evidence-based practices in healthcare settings. She has a number of health services and medical anthropology publications. Her broader research goals are to improve patient centered care and to explore the dynamics of interprofessional care teams.
