Biosketch
Mary received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Simmons College in 2011. Prior to that she received an advanced Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Institute of Health Professions in 1994, which included published research. Mary also has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College in 1981. Her experience in pediatrics include both Early Intervention and outpatient settings. In 2014 and 2017 respectively Mary developed the orthotic clinic and the scoliosis program and clinic at the Clough Family Center for Rehabilitation and Sports. Mary has extensive experience in lower extremity and spinal bracing, stroke patients, and adult spine patients.
Mary is an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) credentialed clinical instructor and has taught physical therapists throughout her career at both the university level and at professional continuing education courses. She wrote a blog for parents from 2014-2024, with close to 100 posts. While the camp director of the Clough Family Rehab iCan Shine Bike Camp (2014-2023) Mary worked with UMass Lowell students on experiential education. In 2018, Mary was an honorable mention recipient of the Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare Caregiver of the Year award. She is certified in Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS) Schroth therapy, Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), Kinesio tape, Massachusetts Early Intervention, and infant massage. Mary currently works at Rehab Health 360 in Acton, Massachusetts.
