The Double River Hawk Scholarship for UMass Lowell Alumni* is offered to high-achieving newly admitted master's student who hold undergraduate degree from UMass Lowell. We want to ensure that you thrive professionally and continue your lifelong learning journey at UMass Lowell. The purpose of this award is to make our excellent master's programs even more affordable for you.

Scholarships are offered $500 per semester up to 4 fall and spring consecutive semesters (up to $2,000 total). All eligible applicants will be automatically considered for the scholarship. No additional application is required. We strongly encourage graduate applicants to apply early to increase their chance in receiving scholarship.

Awardees Requirements:

  • Must confirm enrollment online by the given deadline.
  • Enrollment must be in graduate-level courses.
  • To receive the full scholarship amount students must register for a minimum of six (6) credits per semester

By accepting the Double River Hawk Legacy scholarship for the UMass Lowell Alumni award, you agree to the following conditions:

  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • The award will be applied as a credit against tuition and fee charges. This award is non-renewable.
  • Students who receive other tuition based awards, examples: National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), National Science Foundation (NSF), or Fulbright scholarships; Teaching Assistant (TA) or Research Assistant (RA) appointments; and employee benefits, may have their awards cancelled.
  • If a student obtains other grant aid from the university, they will only receive the higher value scholarship.
  • Housing and meal plan costs are not covered.
  • You must register for your first semester classes as soon as possible. If you enroll in undergraduate courses as prerequisites, it is your responsibility to forward proof of the requirements by email to: scholarships@uml.edu.
  • This scholarship award will be administered according to Federal Financial Aid guidelines. If the Graduate Scholarship is combined with other merit-based or need-based aid, the total cannot exceed the cost of education or the amount of defined need as applicable.
