According to Tom French of the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife, one of the two female chicks born, raised and tagged at Fox Hall in spring 2010 has “replaced a female falcon that had been nesting in Providence, R.I., for the past 14 years.”
Merri and Mack’s daughter, identified by its ID tag “63/AE,” has successfully hatched her own chicks (three of them!) in a nest box atop Providence’s 26-story Bank of America building.
Merri and Mack’s other daughter, known as “62/AE,” was found with an injured wing at T. F. Green Airport in Providence on Aug. 22, 2010. “After being successfully rehabilitated, she was released in Watch Hill, R.I., on Sept. 30 that year,” says French. “We have not spotted her since then.”
