Biosketch
Matthew A. Lehman is a doctoral student in the School of Criminology and Justice Studies in the Terrorism and Security Studies Track. He graduated from Western Carolina University Summa Cum Laude in 2023.
While completing his undergraduate studies, Matthew participated in a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (NSF REU) at the University of North Carolina - Charlotte. There, he conducted research on the economic consequences of mass shootings. He also engaged in a North Carolina Department of Public Safety (NCDPS) Internship with Jackson County Probation, assisting officers with office contacts, field visits, and violation reports.
Matthew's current research interests are focused around terrorism and mass shootings, and how communities can respond to the effects of those events.
