Hanna Melnyczuk’s recent work explores the use of ‘The Self’ as a vehicle for expression and investigation. Her portraits are part real, and part fiction, as she embarks on a ‘new journey’ each time she begins a drawing. The portraits are reflections and maps of The Self. The portraits explore the concepts of loss, journeys, the future, vulnerability and memory.
