Biosketch
Before joining UMass Lowell Afshan Maase worked in upstream oil and gas for British Petroleum (BP) in Alaska. She worked as a Process Engineer in long term major capital projects. In addition, Ms. Maase worked in Operations as a Facilities Engineer providing day-to-day engineering support required for safe and reliable operations and maintenance. Furthermore, she worked as a Process (Optimization) Engineer supporting the facilities through understanding bottlenecks and increasing throughput based on plant capacities. Her last role was as a Process Safety Engineer at a facility providing support in alarm management, process safety management, and leading small scale incident investigations related to process safety.
