American Chemical Society

The American Chemical Society (ACS) is a not-for-profit membership organization founded in 1876 and chartered by a 1937 Act of the U.S. Congress. With a membership of 161,000 chemists, chemical engineers, and other practitioners of the chemical sciences, it is the world's largest scientific society. ACS is recognized as a world leader in fostering scientific education and research, and promoting the public's understanding of science.

Nuclear Energy Institute

The Nuclear Energy Institute focuses the collective strength of the nuclear energy industry to shape policy that ensures the beneficial uses of nuclear energy and related technologies in the United States and around the world. Today, NEI is a highly focused organization that gives the industry a strong voice in national energy policy. The institute receives policy guidance from a board of directors representing all membership segments. Member advisory committees and working groups provide input in specific issue areas.

American Nuclear Society (ANS)

The American Nuclear Society is a not-for-profit, international, scientific and educational organization. It was established by a group of individuals who recognized the need to unify the professional activities within the diverse fields of nuclear science and technology. December 11, 1954, marks the Society's historic beginning at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. ANS has since developed a multifarious membership composed of approximately 11,000 engineers, scientists, administrators, and educators representing 1,600 plus corporations, educational institutions, and government agencies. It is governed by three officers and a board of directors elected by the membership.

Society of Nuclear Medicine

The Society of Nuclear Medicine is an international scientific and professional organization founded in 1954 to promote the science, technology and practical application of nuclear medicine. Its 16,000 members are physicians, technologists and scientists specializing in the research and practice of nuclear medicine. In addition to publishing journals, newsletters and books, the Society also sponsors international meetings and workshops designed to increase the competencies of nuclear medicine practitioners and to promote new advances in the science of nuclear medicine.

Nuclear Energy Agency

The Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) is a semi-autonomous body within the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), located in the Paris area in France. The NEA contributes to the development of nuclear energy as a safe, environmentally-acceptable and economical energy source through co-operation among its participating countries. The NEA membership currently consists of 27 countries across Europe, America, Australia and Asia. It represents 85% of the world's installed nuclear capacity and includes a large majority of the more advanced countries in the nuclear field.

The Materials Research Society is a non-profit organization that brings together scientists, engineers and research managers from industry, government, academia and research laboratories to share findings in the research and development of new materials of technological importance.

Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry

With over 32,000 members worldwide, TAPPI is the world's largest professional organization dedicated to the paper and pulp industries. The TAPPI Foundation was founded as a way for today's members to help secure the future of the paper and related industries. Among its objectives, the TAPPI Foundation bestows grants, fellowships, and awards in support and recognition of achievement in the paper and pulp industries.

PIMA is the premier association for management professionals in the paper and pulp industry. Society for Industrial Microbiology (SIM)

The Society for Industrial Microbiology is a professional association dedicated to the advancement of microbiological sciences, specifically as applied to industrial materials, processes, products and their associated problems. Its members constitute scientists employed in industry, government and university laboratories.

Control System Society (CSS)

The IEEE Control Systems Society was founded in l954 as a scientific, engineering and professional organization dedicated to the advancement of the theory and practice of systems and control in engineering. Today, the Society has more than 10,000 members around the world. Membership in the group has many benefits for practical engineers as well as theory specialists. Society members receive three journals: the Control Systems Magazine, the Transactions on Automatic Control, and the Transactions on Control Systems Technology.

International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE)

ISPE, the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, is a global, not-for-profit membership organization that provides education, training, and technical publications to pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals. ISPE is committed to the advancement of the educational and technical efficiency of its members through forums for the exchange of ideas and practical experience.

Roland E. Derby Scholarship 
This scholarship is for sophomore chemical engineering students and is based on scholastic achievement with due consideration to financial need. The scholarship may be renewed in the junior and senior years if satisfactory academic standing is maintained.

Gerard J. Tremblay Jr. Memorial Scholarship 
This scholarship benefits deserving chemical engineering students who are in satisfactory academic standing.

The Hogden Chemical Engineering Scholarship
This scholarship is available for chemical engineering students participating in the paper engineering option.

Randy Swartz Memorial Scholarship 
This scholarship is available for chemical engineering students in the biological engineering option.

Professor Dominick A. Sama Endowed Scholarship  
These scholarships are for the students who, at the beginning of the sophomore, junior, and senior class levels, have achieved the highest GPA in each class level during their previous semesters.

Bernard L. Killion Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is available for students participating in the nuclear engineering option.

Department Scholarships
These scholarships are available for chemical engineering students based on
a combination of scholastic achievement and financial need. Scholarships will be awarded to two members of the sophomore, junior and senior classes each year who are in satisfactory academic standing.

New England Regional Student Program 
Residents of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut or Rhode Island are eligible for a significant tuition and fee reduction when opting for the nuclear engineering option in the Chemical Engineering Department.
