Biosketch
David Muse serves as the assistant director of Emergency Management at UMass Lowell, spearheading the implementation of comprehensive emergency management strategies. His background in emergency preparedness and public safety equips him with extensive expertise for this role. Previously, he held pivotal positions, including the enterprise emergency preparedness manager at Mass General Brigham Healthcare, Massachusetts State exercise officer at MEMA, senior emergency preparedness manager at State Street Corporation, and disaster program manager for the American Red Cross. Throughout his career, he created and implemented robust preparedness, response and recovery projects and programs. Starting as an EMT, David progressed through roles with local fire and EMS Services and joined the U.S. National Park Service as a law enforcement ranger, where he made significant contributions to emergency response efforts. As a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) and president of IAEM Region 1, David amalgamates practical experience with academic achievements, continuously working to make communities safer.
