Standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in important administrative control to prevent injuries from hazardous pieces of equipment and to prevent overexposure to hazardous chemicals in the labs. The SOP template may be used to assist you in writing a specific SOP for your lab group. Below is also a list of general SOPs that may be used in your lab when applicable. All the general SOPs may be customized with more specific information by the lab group. Principal Investigators must make sure that all hazards in their labs are addressed with SOPs. Please contact Kathi Lamond by email: Kathi_Lamond@uml.edu if you need assistance with writing an SOP.
