Jack M. Wilson First to Market Award

Team EduX is made up of Electrical Engineering graduate students Ahmed Ibreljic and Daniel Maienza and Computer Science senior Joseph Nguyen. The team is working to create an AI-powered platform to revolutionize higher education scheduling for high school and university students. With their solution, students can make more informed decisions about the course scheduling process and find their optimal path toward graduation. The team won the Jack M. Wilson First to Market Award and a total of $4,000 in funding at the 2024 DifferenceMaker $50,000 Idea Challenge.

During their pitch, team EduX explained to their audience how 57.6% of students enter a 4-year institution and end up graduating in 6 years. With their solution, more students will graduate as expected within 4 years by optimizing course scheduling in advance using AI. Additionally, the team also showed a demonstration of a student using this platform to assist with scheduling. With the funding they received from the Idea Challenge, they plan to expand their software and hardware to help protect their student user database.
