Bean Hub, DifferenceMakers
Honorable Mention Award at the 12th Annual DifferenceMaker $50,000 Idea Challenge
Team BeanHub is made up of graduate student Aiman Baig, Senior Shafaat Osmani, Junior Emir Kaplan, and Sophomores Ibrahim Haroon, Anirban Dasgupta, and Mohammad Khan.
The team is developing a program to automate order-taking for coffee chains. With the issues of long wait times and a shortage of employees, these students wanted to find an efficient way for customers to get their morning coffee and reduce carbon emissions. This team was awarded Honorable Mention Award and $2,000 in funding at the 2024 DifferenceMaker $50,000 Idea Challenge.
During their pitch, Team BeanHub explained how they are working to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI) drive-thru order-taking technology that allows for service efficiency. The technology allows companies to reduce their employee turnout rate and increase their revenue by reducing service wait times. The software is also programmed to consistently upsell to increase revenue as well. Using this technology will speed up drive-thru times allowing carbon emissions to be lowered. With the funding they received from the Idea Challenge, they plan to meet with decision-makers at the corporate level for different franchises, different private equity firms, and similar startups in the e-food tech space.
