Bio-Printing with Multimedia Curriculum won Honorable Mention a $2,000 prize at the 2017 5th Annual DifferenceMaker $50K Idea Challenge. The team consists of Siddhant Iyer (Freshman, Chemical Engineering), Venkatesh Manikantan (Junior, Electrical Engineering), Bala-Ji Sathyamoothy (Graduate, Robotic and Computer Engineering), Vaishnavi Srinivasan (Junior, Biotechnology), and Stephanie Stroll (Junior, Biotechnology).
Bio-Printing with Multimedia Curriculum is a cost effective 3D bio-printer for comprehensive and effective use in teaching the emerging science of 3D bio-printing. In order to get younger students interested in the STEM fields, this DifferenceMaker team is marketing their bio-printer to high school and middle school students and administrators. In addition, they are marketing bundled materials and multimedia lessons to teachers. This is meant to help train teachers who will be teaching this technology. Bio-Printing with Multimedia Curriculum believes they will revolutionize the consumer relationship with companies manufacturing technology, as well as revolutionizing STEM education for all.
