The only public program of its kind in Massachusetts, the B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management option is perfect for students interested in careers that integrate science and business. Students will gain professional skills necessary to pursue a career as a pharmaceutical executive in management, sales or marketing. The academic program includes strong foundations in scientific and business knowledge integrating core courses from both the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences and the Manning School of Business.
Students can elect to enroll in the five-year BS/MS program and take courses in their senior year that will count toward the master’s degree. For more information, see the graduate catalog. The flexibility of the program allows for numerous graduate school options. Students interested in UMass Lowell’s graduate degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Public Health can tailor their coursework to meet the entrance requirements for these programs. Students interested in UMass Lowell’s MBA program in the Manning School of Business can take a business minor for a direct pathway to that program.
Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management Option
Students pursuing the Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management option will acquire a unique blend of business and scientific skills. The program prepares you to be a leader in pharmaceutical project management, market and promote novel therapeutics, develop entrepreneurial skills in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields, and integrate new technology to promote health for diverse populations worldwide.
Earning this degree at UMass Lowell provides opportunities to learn from world-class faculty and have access to state-of-the art facilities in both the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences and Manning School of Business. Students will work in student laboratories at UMass Lowell that are equipped with the most current available technology to provide a strong practical science foundation while also having access to the state-of-the-art finance trading room in the Manning School of Business. Students learn alongside students pursuing a wide range of careers giving them unique opportunities to develop interprofessional relationships with a variety of future healthcare providers and business leaders.
