BLA Concentration in Music
The BLA concentration in Music offers students an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of music history and theory. Students can explore the traditions and styles of many musical periods, from Baroque to Contemporary, and genres, including jazz and rock. Students may also include performance in their concentration. (Some ensembles may require auditions. Please consult the Department of Music for details on ensemble participation.)
The BLA concentration in Music consists of 19 credits with the following requirements:
Basic Requirements (6 credits)
Ensemble Requirements (4 credits)
- Any combination of ensembles.
Electives (9 credits)
Students should choose a total of 9 credits from the electives below, including at least 2 courses (6 credits) at the 3000-4000 level.
