Overview / Description
The Plastics Engineering Department is an internationally recognized leader in plastics engineering education. Founded in 1954, we offer the first and largest ABET accredited Plastics Engineering program in the U.S. The Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Plastics Engineering) program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET under the commission’s General Criteria and Program Criteria for Plastics Engineering . More than 3,000 graduates are working in the plastics industry in leadership positions worldwide. We offer rewarding education from the undergraduate to the graduate level and continuing education. Faculty and students conduct innovative research and provide assistance to industry through technology transfer. We foster a caring educational environment that addresses, from concept to commercialization, the design and manufacture of plastic products.
