- Critically analyze professional literature to identify and systematically investigate best practices pertinent to clinical laboratory practice and apply that information in work settings.
- Explain the principles and methods used in molecular laboratory tests and apply that knowledge to ensure the quality of results and validate the accuracy and test performance of new and current methods used in the laboratory.
- Synthesize new concepts, models, and theories through appropriate application of empirical knowledge and the scientific method to design more effective ways to deliver clinical laboratory and health-related services and help resolve clinical laboratory and health sciences issues or problems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication, using both scholarly and technical formats, while working collaboratively with others to advance the scientific basis of knowledge in clinical laboratory science.
- Interpret, implement, and comply with laws, regulations and accrediting standards and guidelines of relevant governmental and non-governmental agencies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in formulating strategy, improving performance, procuring materials and resources, securing compliance, and managing quality assurance programs in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the fundamental management skills, behavior and attitudes required to manage and lead laboratory teams.
- Design, implement and evaluate resource management strategies to maintain optimal laboratory efficiency. and to serve as active contributors and leaders in the clinical laboratory science professions.
