Graduate Student Learning Outcomes for the Ph.D. in Energy Engineering, Renewable Concentration

The objective of the Doctor of Philosophy in Energy Engineering, Renewable Concentration, is to prepare engineering scientists to advance the knowledge and application of renewable energy concepts, systems, and technologies, and to train them for leadership positions in industry, academia and government to provide society with sustainable energy systems. Graduates of this program will be able to: 

  • Understand the relationships among different forms of energy, their transformations, and their role in human society.
  • Analyze renewable energy generation systems based on Solar, Wind, Geothermal and related technologies.
  • Formulate and execute approaches to evaluate the efficiency of Energy Engineering systems.
  • Apply Energy Literacy in engineering decision making.
