Description
This course in work design offers a comprehensive exploration of work design principles, focusing on optimizing productivity, safety, and worker well-being. It integrates methods engineering, ergonomic principles, and occupational health to develop effective, sustainable workplace environments. Topics include methods engineering, process mapping, time study techniques, OSHA regulations and work standardization strategies. Students will also explore anthropometry and ergonomic applications in workstation and environment design (lighting, noise, climate) alongside productivity tools like line balancing and sequencing algorithms. Ethical considerations and practical application wrap up the learning experience.
