Topics may include dragons, djinns, and King Arthur, as well as knights, chivalry, the storyteller Scheherazade, Dante's walk through the Inferno, werewolves, and magic. We will discover how these fantastic tales negotiate cultural issues like genders, race, and ethnicity, political power, and the creation of art. All readings in modern English translation.
