Description
Exercises, lectures and projects will introduce students to fundamental graphic design principles and techniques. Course will begin with a fundamental study of image, form, and space relations, then cover such topics as working with grids, integrating typography, denotative and connotative image making and rendering techniques, page layout, color theory, history, and more. Students will be assigned a series of projects to practice design fundamentals and enhance their visual communication skills. Students will be introduced to the software used in contemporary design practice.

ARTS.1010 Art Concepts, and ARTS.1020 Art Concepts II, and ARTS.1130 Digital Foundations, and ARTS.1560 Drawing II, and ARTS.2300 Typography I, or Permission of Instructor.
