WindSTAR Webinar: Driving Wind Blade Mfg

Mr. Stepehn Nolet will present an overview of the past 20 years of composite
windblade manufacturing innovation and provide insight into the trends that
are driving new innovations to improve blade manufacturing quality while
meeting the aggressive cost demands of today’s energy markets. Then he will
take a look at what the future holds as the industry works to take advantage of
low-cost access to data, and the use of that data in concert with machine
learning and AI methods to improve blade quality and reduce cycle time.

Mr. Nolet serves as Senior Director for Innovation and Technology
at TPI Composites and has nearly 20 years of activity supporting utility-scale
wind energy. In his role at TPI he manages the companies external research
and development efforts. Recently, his focus has centered on creating a truly
sustainable Circular Economy for end-of-life fiber reinforced composites and
specifically the growing number of decomissioned wind turbine blades.
