Concert Band Concert

The UMass Lowell Concert Band, directed by Deb Huber, is comprised of students from all colleges at UML, performs a wide array of contemporary and traditional works for Concert Band. An 1894 march penned by Sousa begins the program. "The Directorate”, one of the first works written for the Sousa Band, is arranged by Lauren Turner who adds a fresh perspective to the work. Brian Balmages Renaissance Reimagined brings forth sounds of holiday celebration. Japanese composer Yukiko Nishimura’s contemporary works are celebrated for their vibrant artistry and deep connection to nature and the cosmos. Her work "Luna “ stands out as a poignant reflection of the universe's beauty. This semester's program also features Five English Folks Songs, expertly arranged for wind band by renowned composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. An overture by Robert Sheldon and a reflection by Rossano Galante complete our December program.
