- How long is the tour?
-
Visitors can expect to be on campus for an hour to an hour and a half for each tour they take. Admissions Information Sessions last for approximately 30 minutes.
- Can I get a letter stating I was here for a tour for my school?
-
You certainly can! Once we confirm you have attended a tour, we are happy to fill out any forms you bring with you or supply a letter for you. Feel free to stop at our front desk in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, University Crossing, Suite 420. You can also call us at (978) 934-3931 or email us at umltours@uml.edu to have one sent to you or your school.
- It’s raining out. Is my tour still happening?
-
Tours happen rain or shine so prepare accordingly. If you made the trip over here, the least we can do is take you on a tour! The only time tours are officially cancelled is when the university is closed. If it is thundering or lightning out, we will try keep the tour indoors as much as possible or wait for it to pass.
- Oh no! I’m late or I missed my tour. What do I do?
-
If you know you are going to be late, give us a call at (978) 934-3931 and we will let the tour guides know. Our staff stays a half hour after the tour begins to connect any late arrivals to the group. Anyone who arrives later than a half hour is encouraged to reschedule their visit or take a self-guided tour with our virtual app as our student staff is on a tight schedule to complete tours.
- I got a parking ticket from UMass Lowell. Do I need to pay it?
-
The university tries our best to avoid handing out tickets to campus visitors here for a regularly scheduled tour. Anyone who arrives for a Campus Tour and gets a parking ticket from UMass Lowell can email us at umltours@uml.edu and we are happy to reach out to Parking Services to start the process of voiding the ticket. Please note, tickets issued for parking in illegal parking areas (i.e. in front of fire hydrants, parking in handicap spots without the proper license tags or staying on campus long after your campus tour) is over will not be voided. Also, City of Lowell tickets are outside of our control so please remember to park on campus for your tour.
- Is it okay if I bring more or less people with me than I originally said I was?
-
Absolutely! We will change your number of attendees once you get to campus.
- Help! I’m lost on campus! How do I get to where I need to go?
-
Give us a call at (978) 934-3931 and we will be happy to direct to where you need to be to the best of our ability.
- Is food provided?
-
While food is not provided specifically for your tour, all dining halls and eateries are prepared for all visitors’ dietary needs. Please feel free to stop by any eateries on campus as they accept cash or credit from all visitors.
