  • Name: Noor Khalid
  • College: Manning School of Business
  • Major: Accounting
  • Hometown: Salem, New Hampshire
  • Favorite hobbies: journaling, photography, and going for relaxing car drives
  • What is your favorite thing about UMass Lowell (UML)? My favorite thing about UML is the resources available to students.
  • What are your future goals? My goals are to graduate with a degree in Accounting, pursue the CPA exam, and get certified as a tax accountant.
  • What has having been involved with the RHSA meant to you? RHSA gave me access to a lot of opportunities and resources that I wouldn't have had.
  • Looking back, what advice would you give to yourself in your first year of college? I would tell myself to join clubs on campus and explore more about what UML has to offer.
  • What advice would you give fellow students? Stay motivated throughout the whole semester and try not to procrastinate.
  • Why did you choose to attend UMass Lowell? I chose UML because it is close to my house but also far enough for me to live on campus.
  • What does it mean to you to be a first-generation college student? Being a first-generation college student means taking advantage of this opportunity and doing something that my parents never got the chance to do.
  • What inspires you to want to help first-generation students in the RHSA? As a first-generation student, there is a different type of pressure on us and RHSA makes it easy for us to transition to college. I would like to pay the help forward to the incoming freshmen and be a familiar face to them.
