The Department of Chemistry is located in the Louis A. Olney Science Center - commonly referred to as Olney Hall on UMass Lowell's North Campus.
- Extensive lab & classroom space — Olney Hall contains more than 300,000 square feet of classroom, office and laboratory space on six floors, of which approximately two-thirds is occupied by the Department of Chemistry.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration — Our colleagues in the Department of Physics and Department of Environmental, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences share the building with us, leading to exciting interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Cross-campus facilities — We also maintain close ties with our colleagues in the Department of Biological Sciences, as well as with departments within the colleges of engineering and health sciences, and many of their facilities are also available for use by our students and researchers.
