UMass Lowell Professor Gulden Camci-Unal presenting a keynote speech.

Each year, the Faculty Symposium includes several sessions of Lightning Talks.

Lighting Talks are 90-second presentations of your research efforts, teaching innovations, creative works, or community engagement projects. You can also pitch an idea, reach out to potential collaborators for an existing or future project, and provide information about a shared resource. Your audience will include various members of the UMass Lowell community: faculty members from across the disciplines, deans, department chairs, and staff.

Format

Lightning Talk presenters have the option of preparing a PowerPoint slide that will be displayed during the 90-second presentation. Given the brevity of the presentation, a single slide is recommended. We do not recommend adding video to your slide.

Registration

Please register to present a lightning talk as soon as possible, but no later than Monday, November 18, 2024. On the form, you will be able to indicate your availability to present and submit a presentation slide, if preferred.

Please note that the lightning talk registration form is separate from the main Faculty Symposium registration. You should complete both forms if you would like to present a lightning talk.
