UMass Lowell’s College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (FAHSS) presents students with exciting opportunities to explore, discover and grow through research and creative work, community engagement, and interaction with dynamic faculty who are experts in their fields.

Through effective teaching, opportunities to work on projects with our distinguished faculty, internships, study abroad programs and a range of other experiential learning opportunities, students emerge from our degree programs with the skills, insights, and perspectives they need to achieve success in their careers and improve their communities.

Our faculty includes nationally and internationally recognized researchers, scholars, and creative artists engaged in developing new knowledge and contributing to the cultural fabric of our world. The College’s research and cultural centers serve as hubs for scholarship & creative activity, and provide many opportunities for student engagement and enrichment.

FAHSS offers over 29 undergraduate & graduate degree programs through our 12 academic departments and numerous interdisciplinary programs. We offer degrees in Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MS), Master of Music (MM), Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Education (MEd), Education Specialist (EdS), Doctor of Education (EdD) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).
