Job Opportunities


There are three types of jobs postings that you will find listed below. Based upon the types of positions, it may or may not be open to all applicants.

Promotional Opportunity Current UML Employees only, within the same Bargaining unit.
Internal Opportunity Current UML Employees only, irrespective of Bargaining units.

UMass Lowell provides eligible employees a menu of benefits including Health, Life and Disability Insurance, Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) and Health Care Spending Account (HCSA) (administered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission) and Dental insurance. UML offers retirement benefits including a defined benefit plan administered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Retirement Board (SRB), an Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) in lieu of the State Retirement Plan for Teaching Faculty and Senior Executives- a defined contributions plan administered by the Mass Board of Higher Education and Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans such as the 403b and 457 programs. Other employee benefits include Tuition Waiver; an Employee Assistance Program (administered by the Wellness Corporation); and Relocation services (provided by The Talbot Group).

Current and regular employees of UMass Lowell interested in open non-faculty positions that they are eligible for will need to complete the Current Employee Application Form and forward it to the Human Resources Department, Dugan Hall, Room 101, UML South.

Background Checks on Final Candidates: The University of Massachusetts, Lowell conducts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) checks relative to prior criminal convictions and pending cases on final candidates prior to an offer of employment for certain positions. UMass Lowell requires specific written authorization to conduct background checks. Failure to provide such authorization shall preclude your application from receiving further consideration.

In general, a finding that an applicant has a criminal record may not constitute an automatic barrier to employment with UMass Lowell. The University evaluates information about prior convictions relative to the date of conviction, the applicant's post-conviction experiences and the specific UMass Lowell position under consideration.
