General Summary (Purpose) of Position
The Business Manager is responsible for processing Purchase Orders, managing budgets and printing budget reports, preparing invoices and travel forms to be processed, processing timesheets for staff and students, preparing all contracts and keeping tract of contract amounts paid not to exceed the contract amount approved.

Examples of Duties:
1. Manage financial transactions for Enrollment & Student Success, Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, Orientation, and Financial Aid by:
• Preparing invoices and travel reimbursement forms for payment.
• Researching and resolving billing and collections disputes.
• Monitoring budget activities and reconciling and balancing accounts.
• Communicating with vendors to address inquiries and resolve issues.
• Maintaining records for various accounts.
• Running reports regarding budget activities.
• Maintaining inventory and ordering supplies for all departments.

2. Provide administrative support to Enrollment & Student Success, Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, Orientation, and Financial Aid by:
• Processing time sheets for staff and students,
• Monitoring student timesheets to not exceed contract hours in Peoplesoft.
• Preparing all contracts for full time benefitted (01), temporary (03), and student employees.
• Coordinating paper work for all new hires, scheduling interviews and mailing out letters to all candidates.
• Coordinating reservations and appointments for the use of Admissions Conference Room.

3. Manage the overall need and merit based aid for students by:
• Conducting budget checks and reviews of funds used for university need-based aid in conjunction with the Office of Financial Aid.
• Establishing and managing a budget-based merit aid scholarship program to including but not limited to Commonwealth Scholars, Deans Scholarships, Transfer Scholarships, Directors Scholarships, Martin T. Meehan Scholarship, and grandfathered University Scholarships.

4. Promote the University’s commitment to customer service by:
• Building effective partnerships with co-workers throughout the University by freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed.
• Ensuring optimum service to all internal and external partners in response to all requests for service and information.
• Maintaining an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, and roles.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associates Degree, preferably in business or accounting
• 3-5 years work experience managing budgets and preparing related reports
• Demonstrated computer skills; including word processing, spreadsheets, and database development; previous experience with Microsoft Office software preferred.
• Previous experience with Peoplesoft Modules, including Financials, Human Resource,  Student Services, FRS, MMARS.
• Ability to demonstrate competency in proprietary systems/applications quickly and easily.
