More than 100 UMass Lowell scholarships are available to eligible students each year. Scholarships are awarded by the academic college or department, as stated in the fund criteria. Unless otherwise stated, scholarships are awarded every spring for the following academic year. Awards are applied directly to student accounts in the following order of priority:
-
To pay any balance due the University
-
Financial aid recipients who are awarded scholarships may have their current financial aid award adjusted accordingly.
-
As a refund check, if all other obligations have been met.
Also, scholarships are typically awarded to students who:
- Carry a full-time credit load. (A “full-time credit load” is defined as: “Full-time students are required to register for a minimum of 12 credits of day courses each semester.”)
- Have a minimum of at least a 2.0 (although there are some scholarships that do not require a minimum GPA).
