Basketball Exhibition vs. UConn
Cheer on the River Hawks basketball team as they take on the Division I UConn Huskies in an exhibition game in Storrs, Conn. Come to a pre-game reception and meet UMass Lowell Coach Greg Herenda and UConn Coach Jim Calhoun.

Rehab Expert Discusses Healing Boston Athletes
Scott Waugh '90, physical therapist for the Boston Bruins and director of rehabilitation for the Boston Red Sox, will discuss life inside the locker rooms of two of the region's biggest sports franchises during the fourth Power of Possibility Alumni Showcase talk. Waugh, who has worked with such well-known local athletes as Mike Lowell, Julio Lugo and Trot Nixon, will discuss his career path and offer advice to students.

Dubus at One Day UMass
Asst. Prof. of English Andre Dubus III, author of "House of Sand and Fog," will represent UMass Lowell at a One-Day UMass program. Experience the best of UMass in one day as one professor from each of the five campuses speaks about his or her work. Open to the public.

Tribute to G. Douglas and Mary C. Sullivan

Join the family and friends of G. Douglas and Mary C. Sullivan to celebrate their memory. Doug impacted the lives of thousands of students, faculty and staff of the Lowell School Department in his many years of service. Together with his wife, Mary, they instilled a love of education in their family. Proceeds from the event will support the G. Douglas and Mary C. Sullivan Memorial Scholarship, to be awarded to an employee of the Lowell School Department pursuing graduate study in the Graduate School of Education. Suggested donation: $100. Please RSVP by Nov. 6.



Community Fellow Talk

Swanee Hunt, the Eleanor Roosevelt Lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and former U.S. ambassador to Austria, will give the 2009 Community Fellow Talk on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 4 p.m. in the Comley-Lane Theatre on South Campus. The talk is free and open to the public.



Francis Cabot Lowell Alumni Awards and Honors Fellows Gala

To celebrate achievements of distinguished alumni and honor outstanding retired faculty, UMass Lowell will host the Francis Cabot Lowell Alumni Awards and Honors Fellows Gala. Tickets are $75 per person. Purchase tickets online. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the students in the Honors Program. RSVP by Friday, November 13.



Join the Messiah Sing-a-Long
The University community is invited to participate in the "UML Messiah Sing-A-Long," under the direction of Handel expert Murray Kidd. Alumni can join the University Choir/Choral Union in the singing of Handel's "Messiah." A brief rehearsal will commence at 6 p.m. in the Durgin Concert Hall followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m. 

Boston Holiday Social

Mix, mingle, and socialize with fellow UMass Lowell alumni and friends. David Basile ’76 invites you to attend an alumni holiday social in downtown Boston. Meet old friends, UMass Lowell faculty and staff and make contact with fellow UMass Lowell alumni in the area.  Hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine will be served. Tickets are $5 per person, which will serve as a donation to the UMass Lowell Fund. RSVP by Nov. 30.
