About 100 of the students entering UMass Lowell each year have some type of documented learning disability.
The campus is aware of the range of academic capabilities of all students and tries to support each with the services and opportunities that help them succeed. A full range of services is available from the Office of Disability Services.
It is advantageous for any student with a documented learning disability to alert the campus early in the application process so that alternative admissions screening criteria can be used. Once a student has done this, his or her SAT score is eliminated from selection criteria. Additional adjustments in the application review process may also be appropriate.
To officially inform the University of your documented learning disability, go to the Office of Disability Services.
