Biosketch

Jesse M. Heines specializes in the implementation of interactive, user-centered applications and websites with rich graphical user interfaces (GUIs), particularly those employing JavaScript and object-oriented libraries to achieve dynamic effects. He is also known for his interdisciplinary work at the intersection of music and computing, for which he has won two awards from the National Science Foundation. Jesse has published widely on these issues and is a frequent presenter at conferences on computing education.  He is a senior member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and has published on issues ranging from teaching students of diverse backgrounds to the resistance in Greece during World War II.
