Wind Energy Research Group

The nationally recognized Wind Energy Research Group (WERG) at UMass Lowell has unique expertise and capabilities to conduct research in the advancement of wind turbine science and systems. The group consists of thirteen interdisciplinary faculty members whose research focuses on wind turbine manufacturing, reliability, energy storage, and design.

Industry members are invited to participate in a WindSTAR Center planning and industry networking meeting dedicated to wind energy research that will foster a community for wind energy networking, collaboration, education and advocacy of the growth of wind energy in the U.S., and take an optional tour of the Massachusetts-NREL Wind Technology Testing Center near Boston.
