The CPH-NEW Healthy Workplace Participatory Program (HWPP) is designed specifically to help employer organizations adopt and implement programs with a Total Worker Health® approach. The HWPP Toolkit was developed to engage employees in designing integrated solutions that address a wide range of work environment, work organization, safety, and employee health issues.

HWPP Case Studies

The Center has developed several case studies highlighting how working professionals, at various levels of each organization and across industries, used the HWPP design process and the HWPP Toolkit to address problems at their organization. Each case study contains actionable insights about program start-up, forming the two-committee structure, how others used the IDEAS Tool to develop interventions, adapt the HWPP Tools for Lean and other organizational factor5s,  and the impacts the HWPP had at the organization. These concise narratives offer a snapshot of real-world scenarios and provide valuable lessons for others interested in implementing the HWPP in their organization.

HWPP for Unions and Worker Organizations (HWPP-U) Manual

The HWPP-U Manual (pdf) was developed for the "Building Total Worker Health (TWH) Leaders in Unions and Worker Organizations Train-the-Trainer" course. It provides step-by-step procedures for union workers and their advocates to lead a worker-centered design process. The HWPP-U Manual is designed to encourage communication, mutual learning, and a shared commitment to worker safety, health, and well-being. The HWPP-U train-the-trainer course and the HWPP-U Manual were developed as part of the SHIFT II project.
