WHAT:Kronos Incorporated, the global leader in workforce management solutions in the cloud, will honor inaugural participants following the completion of the first session of its new co-op program with UMass Lowell.

Since Jan. 10, UMass Lowell students have been working full time at Kronos in a variety of roles, including professional services, sales and marketing, through a new relationship designed to offer students opportunities to put their classroom instruction to the test and help Kronos cultivate potential additions to its growing workforce. While several UMass Lowell students have participated in the Kronos internship program, this is the first time the two organizations have completed an official co-op program specifically designed for UMass Lowell students. The program will continue with the second session starting in the fall.

Each UMass Lowell student who participates in the Kronos co-op program will also receive a $3,000 scholarship from the company to be used the following semester. This aligns with the Kronos GiveInspired initiative to invest in and grow the next generation workforce.

Kronos Chief Executive Officer Aron Ain and Vice President of Presales Barb Vlacich will speak at the July 9 event at Kronos headquarters in Chelmsford, Mass., to congratulate and thank the students for their participation. Representatives of UMass Lowell – including from the Career Services and Co-operative Education Center, University Advancement and Alumni Relations – are scheduled to participate.

In addition, two UMass Lowell management information systems majors from Leominster and Shirley will deliver presentations on the valuable real-world experience they have gained in their six months with Kronos. The other students participating in the program are from Dorchester, Lowell, Methuen, North Reading, Norwood and Wilmington.

Kronos is often ranked among the best places to work in the U.S., Canada, and Asia, including top accolades from The Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal, Forbes and The Globe and Mail. More than 100 UMass Lowell graduates are employed by Kronos and have been invited to attend the event.

Tens of thousands of organizations in more than 100 countries, including more than half of the Fortune 1000, use Kronos workforce management solutions to control labor costs, minimize compliance risk, improve workforce productivity, and increase employee engagement. Products include time and attendance, scheduling, HR and payroll, hiring, and labor analytics applications deployable in the Kronos Cloud.
