WHAT:  Gov. Charlie Baker, UMass Lowell Chancellor Marty Meehan and Massachusetts Technology Collaborative CEO Pamela Goldberg will participate in the announcement of two new financial commitments to the university.

The funding will help the university and the Commonwealth become a center for innovation in an emerging industry while enhancing resources and experiential education opportunities for UMass Lowell students.

The announcements include a grant from the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and a gift from prominent UMass Lowell alumni. Both commitments highlight the importance of public and private support for public higher education and how it benefits the economy by fueling research and development and preparing students to enter the workforce after graduation.
