What: What are employers looking for in college graduates entering the job market? What do graduating seniors want out of their careers? The Summer and Beyond Career Fair at UMass Lowell will provide the answers as it brings together more than 800 students with more than 150 employers seeking to fill full-time jobs, internships and co-operative education positions.
Last year, the fair broke records for employers’ participation and this year’s fair is UMass Lowell’s largest ever. Employers hail from the public and private, profit and nonprofit sectors and include Johnson & Johnson, Radio Disney Boston, JP Morgan Chase and Oracle, among many others.
Now in its 18th year, the fair is hosted by UMass Lowell’s Career Services and Cooperative Education Center, which aids students in establishing themselves in their working lives and in gaining real-world experience to augment their educations. Many students have already attended interview-skills and career-fair workshops hosted by the center in anticipation of this event. A photographer at the fair will provide students with headshots for their professional use as they begin their job searches.
