LOWELL -- For the second time in three weeks, UMass Lowell and Providence College will be battling for a title.

Fourth-seeded Providence nipped fifth-seeded New Hampshire, 3-2, Sunday in the rubber game of their best-of-three Hockey East Tournament quarterfinal series and will clash with top-seeded UMass Lowell on Friday in a semifinal game at TD Garden in Boston. Game time is 5 p.m.

The winner of that game will play for the Hockey East Championship on Saturday at 7 p.m. UMass Lowell beat Providence, 4-1, two weeks ago to win the regular-season title.

Second-seeded Boston College and third-seeded Boston University will meet in the other semifinal.
