UML Interns to Attend DNC


Five Students Participate in Denver Convention Aug. 25-28

College students from around the country are preparing for a two-week educational and political experience at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, running Aug. 25 to 28. A contingent of UMass Lowell students will be led by Dr. Francis Talty of the Political Science Department. UML student participants are James Blatchford, Brenton Hyde, Raymond Levy, Ryan Monaco and Nichole Masse.          

Organized by the Washington Center for Internships, the program at the convention brings in more than 300 interns and faculty leaders from over 25 colleges and universities. Students will work for the various state delegations, media outlets and other participating organizations at the convention.

During the pre-convention week, students attending panels, lectures and tours while watching the set up for the convention. Throughout the second week, students will assist in a variety of assignments while attending floor activities, receptions, rallies and daily discussions analyzing the results of each day.
