Thirty-nine student-athletes were named to the Northeast-10 Conference 2007-08 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, including 13 Gold Scholars, a designation for athletes whose grade-point averages are in the top 5 percent of all UML students.

Another 13 athletes were named Silver Scholars, finishing between the top 6 and 10 percent, and another 13 were named Bronze Scholars, finishing between the top 11 to 15 percent.

Five athletes were honored for the fourth time: seniors Julie Brodie of the softball team; Katelyn Campopiano, Celia Merullo and Laura Donigian of the women’s soccer team; and Kristina Martell of the volleyball team.

Making their third appearances on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll were senior Bryan Koenig and junior Chris Dietsch of the men’s track and field team; junior Sarah Brassard of the women’s cross country/track and field teams; junior Bridgette Hooker of the women’s basketball team; and junior Missy Seeley of the field hockey team.

The UML women’s track and field/cross country and women’s soccer teams each placed nine student-athletes on the lists while the volleyball team had four players cited. On the men’s side, the track and field/cross country teams had five players named.

In another benchmark athletic year, six of University’s 15 Division II teams along with 18 track and field athletes advanced to NCAA competition. UML finished the year 32nd in the U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup standings, second highest among NE-10 schools.
