FAFSA Updates

The 2025-2026 FAFSA is expected to be released by December 1, 2024.
Financial Aid Updates for Fall 2024
The Financial Aid Office at UMass Lowell continues to award incoming and currently enrolled students as we continue to process FAFSA data received from the US Department of Education, however, some of the FASFA information contains errors which must be resolved prior to awarding. We will continue to process student FAFSAs as quickly as possible.
Fall 2024 admitted students will be notified through their admissions portal of their award eligibility before receiving their physical award letter.
Currently enrolled students must be registered for fall and meeting eligibility standards in order to receive their financial aid awards.
For any student requesting an unusual or special circumstance appeal, or have been selected for verification, the Department of Education has issued guidance that we can begin processing in late June. In the mean time, documents can be uploaded to your financial aid portal so that we can process as quickly as possible one we are able.
